2008 Home Improvement Show
MILWAUKEE/NARI SHOW OFFERS VARIETY OF ADMISSION DISCOUNTS AND PRIZES
Discounted ticket prices and a variety of raffle prizes are just some of the incentives attracting visitors to the 46th annual Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Show at the Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park in West Allis Thurs., Feb. 7, through Sun., Feb. 10.
People over 55 will be admitted for $4.00 on Thursday, Feb. 7, for Senior Day sponsored by Callen Construction. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel PressCard holders receive a $2.00 discount on the purchase of up to four regularly priced adult tickets during each day of the Show. Advance tickets are available now through Wed., Feb. 6, at the Milwaukee/NARI office and other member locations. With a mission to increase public awareness of the home improvement industry and to provide scholarships and financial aid to southeastern Wisconsin students, the Milwaukee/NARI Foundation will conduct a raffle. The raffle prizes available are as follows:
- Playhouse constructed by MATC Downtown Campus Carpentry Students
- Playhouse constructed by MATC South Campus Carpentry Students
- Playhouse constructed by WCTC Carpentry Students
- Carrier Furnace and Air Conditioner, including installation, from 1st Choice Heating & Cooling ($5,000 value)
- Voucher for two round-trip Midwest Airlines tickets ($1,500 value)
- An area rug and a one-hour designer consultation from Carpet Town ($500 value)
- Reverse Osmosis System from Culligan of Greater Milwaukee ($1,120 value)
- $500 Gift Card for House of Harley Davidson
- Amarr Garage Door, including installation, from Professional Construction, Inc. ($825 value)
- $100 Bartolotta Restaurant Gift Certificate from Callen Construction, Inc.
Raffle tickets will be sold at one for $5.00, three for $10.00, and eight for $20.00. The winning tickets will be drawn at 4:30 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 10, on the Kennedy Hahn Appliance/American Cooking Demonstration Stage. One need not be present to win.
Cosponsored by the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc., and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the 2008 Show will provide Milwaukee/NARI, the area’s leading home improvement and remodeling industry resource for more than 46 years, with the opportunity to have its members provide consumers with “A Celebration of Home,” the theme for the Show.
More than 325 exhibitors will fill over 700 booth spaces covering the entire exposition center and will feature providers of thousands of home improvement products and services, including kitchens, bathrooms, decks, cabinets, windows, siding, countertops, lighting, landscaping, additions, wall covering, rec rooms, roofing, fireplaces, and more.
During the Show, educational demonstrations and seminars by home improvement experts and media celebrities will be held, including presentations on the Ver Halen – Pella Window Store Seminar Stage by Kelly Edwards, presented by The Home Depot, of HGTV’s “Design on a Dime” and Michael Weishan of “The Victory Garden” on PBS. Kennedy Hahn Appliance/American will sponsor the Cooking Demonstration Stage, which will feature area chefs and national cooking celebrities, including Chef Kris Winkelman of Babe Winkelman Productions, Chef Darren McGrady who worked four years as Princess Diana’s personal chef and more than 11 years at Buckingham Palace, and Chef Keegan Gerhard, pastry chef and food competition judge from The Food Network.
In addition, the Show’s Outdoor Living Area will feature garden areas, a deck, and outdoor cooking component. There will also be special attractions, including the American Standard “Ingenuity Tour, “The Sherwin Williams Interactive Painting Area, the Focus on Energy “Green Remodeling” display, and the Schlossmann’s Dodge City Vehicle and House of Harley motorcycle displays.
Hours on Thurs., Feb. 7, and Fri., Feb. 8, are 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 9, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; and Sun., Feb. 10, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $6 in advance, $8 at the door on Thurs. and Fri., and $10 Sat. and Sun. Two-day tickets for the Show will also be sold at the door for $12. Tickets for seniors 55 and older are $5.00, with a special price of $4.00 at the door on Thurs, Feb. 7, for Senior Day. Children 12 and younger are free and there is free childcare for ages 3 – 12.
